When people don’t have the resources to provide food for their family, they feel worried and embarrassed. The sad truth is many food pantry experiences deepen that anxiety and shame. At Luke 3:11 Share Center, we offer a simple, dignified process so people can get nutritious food their family will enjoy.
Just lots and lots of heart.
Here’s What Matters Most to Us
We serve our Guests (not “clients”) with utmost respect.
They select the food items that will meet the needs of their family, rather than receiving a pre-filled box of things they may not use. We listen to and pray with them if they’d like.
We’re a collection of neighbors working together to meet each other’s needs.
We believe everyone—everyone—has something to share, and we encourage our Guests to participate through donating and/or volunteering.
We value both our volunteers’ and our guests’ time, so we’re organized and efficient.
Unlike most food pantries, our Guests make appointments, eliminating the need to wait in a long line—often without the guarantee of food.
Food is a basic need. So is dignity.
There's no "Take a number."
We know our Guests by name.
There's no "Prove it."
If someone says they need food, we believe them.
There's no "You get what you get."
Our Guests make their own selections—much like any of us do at a grocery store.
There's no "Get in line."
By booking an appointment, our Guests know exactly when to arrive and how long they’ll be here.
There's no "We're better than you."
Our staff and volunteers see our Guests as people of worth who have something to offer.
